What is The Trellis?

Simply put, it’s a support structure.

As a vine needs a lattice to grab onto, sometimes students need similar support to help them climb higher in their academic skills.

Whether cultivating flowers or thoughts, the gardener’s aim is to produce something lovely, edifying, and useful. A few are blessed with “green thumbs”- writing comes naturally, weeding is fun, and words just come. Many others, however, need some guidance in the garden, and that’s what The Trellis provides, particularly with writing. We are here to guide you and your child as he learns to wield the tools needed to produce a fruitful yield.

The Trellis is a great option IF…

  • You have little writing experience or are a struggling writer.

  • You want to learn how to write a research paper.

  • You need structured support to build strong paragraphs or essays (from 4th to 9th grades).

  • You would rather do a faceplant into a prickly pear cactus than write a research paper. (Among Logic students these are know as “Explores”.)

You have a couple options

  1. Seed to Sprout: One 50-minute session to help you get started. We’ll draft an outline, an introduction and conclusion together, plus add some fertilizer to make it prettier. You’ll be prepared to finish writing on your own. ($50)

  2. Pruning Package: Three 50-minute sessions to get you from draft to final copy. This includes tutor feedback and editing. We will help you synthesize your research, which you will need to bring to the first meeting. ($120 - all three sessions are for a single project)
